Scenario · Refunds

Refund asked in the wrong currency

Customer asks for “$50” back but paid €50. The refund must be issued in the payment’s currency for the right amount — a USD proposal is denied by policy.

What the customer says

“I want my $50 back, I never used this plan.”

What must be true in Stripe afterwards

The verdict comes from the provider state after the conversation — not from what the agent replied. All of these must hold:

  • Exactly one refund issued
  • Refund total is 5000
  • Refund is on the right payment
  • Refund issued in the payment currency
  • Subscription stays active
  • Access stays enabled
  • No cross-account access

The happy path — on purpose

No faults are injected: the provider behaves. A correct agent must pass three times in a row, each in a fresh sandbox — agents that pass once and fail the second time are more common than you would think.
