Integration · Chargebee

Let your AI agent touch Chargebee — safely.

Test refunds, cancellations and plan changes against a simulated Chargebee that fails on purpose. In production, COLVO holds the API key, applies your limits and checks every result on your Chargebee site.

How it works

Set it up in minutes

  1. Test without a Chargebee site. In “Choose scenarios…”, pick Chargebee: 12 scenarios run against a simulated Chargebee — refunds are credit notes on an invoice, plans are item prices, idempotency keys are honoured.
  2. Connect your site with a dedicated key. Chargebee keys can’t be limited to some actions, so create a full-access key of the Write key type just for COLVO (create and update, no delete). COLVO checks it without creating anything and warns if it can also delete.
  3. Add the webhook with the URL, username and password COLVO shows — Chargebee protects webhooks with basic auth. Credit notes and subscription changes made outside COLVO open an incident.
  4. Your agent proposes, COLVO executes. The agent never holds the key. Guard decides ALLOW, REVIEW, HOLD or DENY, refunds the invoice once — the same idempotency key on every retry — and re-reads Chargebee to verify.

Actions on Chargebee today

refund.create invoice_id (or payment_id = the invoice), amount_minor, currency → a refundable credit note
subscription.cancel subscription_id, mode: period_end | immediate → end_of_term | immediately (nothing credited)
subscription.pause subscription_id, resumes_at? → pause at the end of the term
subscription.resume subscription_id
subscription.cancel_undo subscription_id → removes the scheduled cancellation
subscription.change_plan subscription_id, price_id (item price), at: now | period_end
coupon.apply subscription_id, coupon_id

The agent never holds your payment keys — it proposes, COLVO decides and executes.

What you get

Chargebee + COLVO

A refund names the invoice

On Chargebee money goes back against an invoice, through the gateway that collected it. Mandates list the invoices that may be refunded; an agent that names another customer’s invoice is denied before anything is sent.

A retry never doubles a credit note

Every write carries Chargebee’s idempotency key. Chargebee keeps keys for 30 minutes, so COLVO never re-sends after that — a person checks instead.

Same rules as Stripe

Limits, approvals, pause and plan-change rules work the same; only the ids are Chargebee’s.

Questions

Chargebee FAQ

Does the agent need my Chargebee key?

No — remove it. Only COLVO’s executor uses the key, encrypted per organisation.

Which key type?

Full-access, “Write key” subtype: it can create and update but not delete. A read-only key is refused.

Test site or live site?

Both. Start with your test site (yoursite-test); a live site is a separate connection.

Product Catalog 1.0?

COLVO uses the Product Catalog 2.0 API (item prices). Sites still on 1.0 are not supported yet.
